Summoning the primal energy of rock music’s “wall of noise”, George Chua tap into the influences of his teenage years listening to bands like Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Velvet Underground for his latest sound installation work: Teenage Ancient. Stripping bare the embellishment of rock music of its performance to present the core of its psychogeography in the form of an experientially immersive sound art. To present a “new wave” that is primal and ancient yet psychedelic and full of audio colours and tones. The secret history of rock and roll lies in the drone.
